Workshops & Seminars Description:
The Ski and Snowboard Mechanics Workshops will begin its 22nd season under faculty management this September. The schedule below covers visits to 12 ski areas across the country.
Note: A limited number of special one-day events can be scheduled for groups of 20 or more. Call 802.899.2633
Day 1:
On Day 1, we will offer three full day courses:- Binding Mechanics Basic
- Binding Mechanics Advanced
- Rental Mechanics Update
Day 2:
On Day 2, we offer two full day courses:- Ski and Snowboard Tuning and Repair
Course Descriptions:
Day 1:
ALPINE BINDINGS - BASIC [BMB-1]:- Entry Level binding mechanics.
Hands-on training in the installation and inspection of major brands and the use and care of hand and power tools.
- Mechanics certified by at least one supplier last season.
Hands-on training in the installation, inspection, and troubleshooting of major brands.
- Rental technicians of all levels.
Hands-on training in hand and power tools, binding installation, preseason, in-season, and post accident inspection, and dispatch procedures.
Day 2:
Ski and Snowboard Tuning and Repair [STR-2]:
- Ski and Snowboard mechanics of all levels. Hands-on training in hand and machine techniques for sanding, base repairs, stone grinding, edge tuning, and waxing of skis and snowbards. Also, training in delamination, sidewall, edge, and major base repair.
Rental / Service Management and Employee Training Seminar [RSC-2]:
Rental shop and service center owners and managers. A course in the organization and operation of rental and service facilities of all sizes. Includes pre-season, in-season and post accident inspection, maintenance, record keeping, boot sizing, ski maintenance, equipment storage and dispatch, evaluating shop efficiency, and in reorganizing layout and procedures to maximize efficiency. Also, how to organize and deliver in-shop employee training programs.
