Workshops & Seminars Description:
The Ski and Snowboard Mechanics Workshops will begin the twenty-first season under faculty management this September. The schedule below covers visits to 12 ski areas across the country.Day 1:
On Day 1, we will offer three full day courses:- Binding Mechanics Basic
- Binding Mechanics Advanced
- Rental Mechanics Update
Day 2:
On Day 2, the full-day course options are:- Ski Tuning and Repair
- Snowboard Tuning and Repair
Course Descriptions:
Day 1:
ALPINE BINDINGS – BASIC [BMB-1]:- Entry Level binding mechanics.
Hands-on training in the installation and inspection of major brands and the use and care of hand and power tools.
- Mechanics certified by at least one supplier last season.
Hands-on training in the installation, inspection, and troubleshooting of major brands.
- Rental technicians of all levels.
Hands-on training in hand and power tools, binding installation, preseason, in-season, and post accident inspection, and dispatch procedures.
Day 2:
SKI TUNING AND REPAIR [STR-2]:- Ski mechanics of all levels.
Hands-on training in hand and machine techniques for sanding, base repairs, stone grinding, edge tuning, and waxing of skis. Also, hands-on training in delamination, sidewall, edge, bent ski, and major base repair.
- Snowboard Mechanics of all levels.
Hands on training in hand and machine techniques for sanding, base repairs, stone grinding, edge tuning, and waxing of snowboards. Also, hands-on training in T-nuts, delamination, edge and major base repair.
Day 3:
RENTAL & SERVICE CENTER MANAGEMENT [RSC-3]:- Rental /Service Management and Employee Training Seminar.
Rental Shop and Service Center owners and managers. A course in the organization and operation of rental and service facilities of all sizes. Includes pre-season, in-season, and post accident inspection, maintenance, record keeping, boot fitting, ski maintenance, equipment storage and dispatch, evaluating shop efficiency, and in reorganizing layout and procedures to maximize efficiency. Also, how to organize and deliver in-shop employee training programs.
Registration at the Venue:

Please Note: Attendance at binding or rental courses is strictly limited to bona fide shop and ski area personnel and their guests.
Register Early:
The per-day fee for all courses starts at $165 [until June 10, 2010] and increases as the date for the workshop in your area approaches – up to $250 for registration on the day of the event.
